Description
René Dubos, 1973
The courtesy of The Rockefeller Archive
When Dubos arrived at York Avenue and sixty-sixth street, he entered through an imposing gate in iron fence surrounding the Rockefeller Institute's fifteen acres, claimed the hill lined with an allée of young sycamore trees. It was a walk he would take almost every day for the next fifty years, and he never wavered from his first impression.
