Today's clinical research nurses at The Rockefeller University Hospital continue a century-long tradition of expertise, resourcefulness, and compassion. The Hospital's first superintendent of nursing, Nancy Elliott (third from right), elicited a high compliment from the novelist Henry James when he toured the Hospital in 1912: " I have been greatly impressed by the beauty and efficiency of this place, all of which, if you will permit me to say so, is embodied in your own person."
