First Staff of the Hospital, 1910
Rufus Cole, the first director of the Rockefeller Institute Hospital, showed an extraordinary ability to select promising candidates for success in his endeavor. He chose his first resident staff with the advice of Simon Flexner. With remarkable wisdom they recruited a group of young men who were nearly all destined to reach high professional distinction.
