Description

Rocking dialysis machine, accession no. 149; before 1931

This machine was devised by biochemist John Northrop for rocking dialysis, both flow-through and closed runs, and made by Rockefeller machinist Mr. Darling in the basement of the building now called Flexner Hall and adopted by several laboratories. In the 1970s the machine was used extensively by Merrill Chase.
