Description
After the war, Blobel family settled in Freiberg, where Günter developed a great love for theater and music. Each week he listened to Bach cantatas performed in the magnificent gothic cathedral, the Dom, on an organ built by one of Bach’s friend, Gottfried Silbermann. Young Günter was taken with the great choral works, even participated in singing in the cantus firmus in Bach’s Matthäus Passion
