William H. Welch, an American physician and medical school administrator, was a founding president of the Board of Scientific Directors at the Rockefeller Institute for Medical Research. He was also a founding editor of the Journal of Experimental Medicine, which remains a prestigious publication of the Rockefeller University Press to this day.
